We are so grateful to the James M. and Cathleen D. Stone Foundation for their landmark $10 million gift to the Stone Living Lab, and for their commitment and continued advocacy for Boston’s waterfront and Harbor Islands.
As the coastal communities surrounding Boston Harbor face climate change-related challenges, the Stone Living Lab has emerged as a key partner, advancing and scaling nature-based and hybrid approaches to adapt to climate impacts. Boston Harbor Now co-leads the Lab with UMass Boston, and appreciates that this donation is an investment in practical solutions that will go beyond research, furthering the Lab’s efforts to safeguard our neighborhoods while we work together to preserve cultural and natural landmarks and improve the quality of life for those who depend on them.
We look forward to our continued work together to ensure that resilience is not just a response to crisis, but a shared pathway toward equity, opportunity, and community well-being.
