Eastie Week is a celebration of the rich, vibrant, and resilient community of East Boston – its people, history, culture, music, and art. This year we’re delighted to celebrate TEN years of Eastie Week with two full weeks of activities taking place between July 9 and July 26. Scroll down to view the complete schedule of FREE and low-cost, family-friendly community-led activities hosted by East Boston organizations and partners.

Eastie Week 2023 is a community initiative made possible by the support and efforts of organizations across East Boston.

How does climate change affect our local neighborhoods in Boston, and what does building a resilient future look like? Ride along the Greenway with The Friends of Mary Ellen Welch Greenway and The Trustees Boston Waterfront Initiative to learn about the history of East Boston, and about the future of open space, accessibility, and climate resilience. We want to host an inclusive and fun event open to all members of the community. Come join us in whatever form of wheels you wish to bring, including but not limited to a scooter, skateboard, stroller, wheelchair, etc. Free bike rentals for solo riders or families will be available. East Boston Main Streets (EBMS) will host the 28th Annual “Taste of Eastie”. For 28 years, Taste of Eastie has been East Boston's largest charity dining event & sells out every year with attendees eager to try a "taste" of Eastie's diverse local cuisine & support Eastie. The Eastie Beach Bash will be an exciting event for local organizations and our partner programs to bring their summer camp and youth attendees to the beach! Save the Harbor will provide face painting, fishing along the shore, music, and local food. Piers Park Sailing will be providing free kayaking, and A Trike Called Funk’s resident DJ Edword Galan will play a fun-filled mix of music alongside resident MC & Dance Lead Aaron Myers intermittently facilitating easy-to-follow dance activities. Trike Called Funk is also partnering with EforAll Roxbury to facilitate creative, hands-on activities for children ranging from music- and art-making to multi-sensory play experiences. Other partners include Katia Kolpakova, who will provide block printing art, and VOLO Sports, who will run free soccer games for kids.

Street Art & Mural Walking Tour with the public art producers Join Matt, the creative producer behind HarborArts, for a guided tour of murals and public art in East Boston. The tour features more than 20 large-scale murals and installations, including the massive artworks painted for Beautify Main Streets, Harvest Art Project, and PangeaSeed Foundation's international Sea Walls: Artists for Oceans initiative, brought to Boston by HarborArts. This special opportunity for a personal tour with the curator & director will offer insight into the process of planning, producing, and installing large-scale public art installations and festivals, and share a perspective on the power of public art to bring people together and inspire positive change.
