Jason Rundle
Jason Rundle recently joined Boston Harbor Now in our newly created Senior Harborwalk Manager role! Jason will lead the implementation of BHN’s Harborwalk 2.0 Vision, centering coastal resilience and equitable access around the harbor’s edge. Rundle will also focus on maximizing the impact of current Harborwalk programming, while guiding and activating new sites to draw more residents and visitors to the waterfront.
Jason moved to the area to attend Boston University, where he earned a BS focused on public health and journalism, as well as an MPH in environmental health. He has conducted extensive academic and professional research on urban climate adaptations, access to open space, and GIS storytelling. Working for various nonprofit organizations in the Boston area, Jason has led strategic communications campaigns and community engagement initiatives, managed an environmental commission for the MA government, and created coalitions to shape waterfront developments.
As a champion for equitable access to the outdoors and climate justice, Jason is excited to dive into promoting and protecting the Harborwalk as a vital public resource. He has spent the last few years connecting regional residents who face barriers to accessing our waterfront to the Boston Harbor and Islands, particularly people of color, people with disabilities, and people who speak languages other than English. Rundle has the knowledge background to explain complex topics like climate projections and nature-based solutions to people from any background, and has led work with municipal and state governments around coastal resilience.
He is excited to join the BHN team in creating a more vibrant, accessible, and resilient waterfront!
