Dear Friends,
If you haven’t heard, college students aren’t the only new faces in town. Boston Harbor has some new visitors – of the Cetacea variety. Last week a pod of young humpback whales delighted thousands around the country as they frolicked and feasted in Boston’s fertile harbor, demonstrating the impact of decades of harbor cleanup, dedicated planning, and sound environmental policies.
The city’s newest celebrities have the right idea; the Harbor is THE place to be right now. New Englanders know the next few weeks bring the best weather, changing leaves (especially beautiful on the islands), and the chance to take in a gorgeous sunset with every evening ferry commute. Day trips to the Boston Harbor Islands continue to be a great option for getting away without leaving town. This fall, your local library pass is good for 2-for-1 tickets every day of the week until the end of the season. Who knew you could whale watch from a Harbor Island and what better way to enjoy the end of summer?
See you on the Harbor,
