Boston’s Prudential Tower Will Shine Orange and Blue In Support of Boston Harbor Now Dec. 19
The summit of the Prudential Tower will glow in a unique color each night throughout 31 days
BOSTON—Tuesday, December 19, will be Boston Harbor Now’s special evening in partnership with the Prudential Center’s Annual 31 Nights of Light program as Boston Harbor Now’s leaders, donors, and supporters help “flip the switch” to make the summit of the Prudential Tower radiate in vibrant orange and blue. The colors on this evening serve to symbolize the organization’s steadfast dedication to protecting and enhancing the city’s waterfront and the Boston Harbor Islands.
Boston Harbor Now is a nonprofit organization committed to building a better Boston based on our Harbor. With a mission centered around accessibility, inclusivity, and resilience, Boston Harbor Now engages in meaningful collaborations with diverse stakeholders, including communities, businesses, and government agencies, creating a harbor, waterfront, and islands that are resilient, vibrant, and thriving for everyone.
The 31 Nights of Light program was introduced in 2009 to celebrate 28 local Boston-area organizations during the December holidays and highlight their positive work in Boston and beyond. Utilizing a state-of-the-art LED lighting system, the top of Prudential Tower will change color daily to honor each of its 28 community partners.
Boston Harbor Now President and CEO Kathy Abbott said: “Along with the hundreds of thousands of people who live, work, and play in Greater Boston, all of us at Boston Harbor Now love seeing the Prudential Center’s ’31 Nights of Light’ display and how it makes the Pru an even brighter beacon of the city skyline, celebrating the work of so many nonprofit organizations during this season of giving. December 19th will be a special chance for Boston Harbor Now to thank all our donors and partners for supporting our mission of ensuring that Boston Harbor, its waterfront, and its Islands are accessible, inclusive, and properly adapted to the risks of climate change.”
