Dear Friends,
I love being a tourist in my own town! Nothing makes me appreciate where I have been born, raised, lived, and work more than bringing myself down or out to Boston Harbor. Visit the Harborwalk and beaches for all kinds of special programming provided by property owners, cultural institutions (like the ICA, Boston Children’s Museum, & the New England Aquarium), and our other nonprofit partners (like Piers Park Sailing, the Trustees, and Save the Harbor/Save the Bay).
The Boston Harbor Islands are busier than ever as we celebrate the 25th and 50th anniversaries of the National and State Park. There isn’t a better way to spend a Sunday afternoon in the city than being at Jazz on the Porch on Spectacle Island, with a beer or a soda and tacos from Brato. Get your tickets soon for Spectacle Summer Nights, Lighthouse Tours, and Sunset Lobster Clambakes because they are selling out quickly! And be sure to take a ferry ride to the islands or around the harbor to catch the breeze and some views to give you a fresh perspective on our fair city.
While summer is passing quickly, New England’s warm days extend into September. Don’t panic, but do plan! Pick a day or an evening, and treat yourself to the best of what Boston and Greater Boston have to offer by experiencing this exciting waterfront, harbor, and islands that belong to and benefit each of us.
Happy Summer,
