On Monday, November 18, 2019 hundreds of Boston Harbor Now supporters joined together for the Onboard Awards at the Boston Harbor Hotel.
Held annually, the evening celebrates innovative and socially responsible waterfront development. This year Boston Harbor Now was pleased to recognize Seaport TMA/North Station Ferry Founders, Encore Boston Harbor and Harborwalk, and Martin’s Park for increasing accessibility and enjoyment on our treasured waterfront.
Guests enjoyed a delicious meal donated by Legal Sea Foods along with beverages donated by Trillium Brewing Company, 90 Plus Cellars, and Shortpath Distillery. The evening featured a brief speaking program and award ceremony with remarks from Jeffrey Porter, Chair of the Boston Harbor Now Board of Trustees, Onboard Awards Co-chairs; Bob Golledge and Jake Citrin, along with remarks and a special video from Boston Harbor President and CEO, Kathy Abbott.
Accepting on behalf of the honorees were Charles Pappalardo (Vertex) accepting for Seaport TMA, Eric Kraus (Encore) accepting for Encore Boston Harbor and Harborwalk, and Ryan Woods (City of Boston) accepting for Martin’s Park.
Funds raised through sponsorships, donations, and ticket sales allow Boston Harbor Now to continue the important work of preparing for the impacts of climate change, supporting Boston’s working port, and offering free and low-cost access for underserved communities to enjoy our waterfront.
